Coop a Loop
Coop a Loop is the solo music project of Philadelphia-based bassist and composer Eric Cooper, known for creating vibrant, groove-driven instrumental music that blends funk, electronic, indie rock, jam-band, psychedelic, and ambient influences. Using a bass guitar, looping technology, and an array of effects pedals, Cooper builds intricate, layered soundscapes live, transforming a single instrument into something that sounds like an entire band. His music combines virtuosic bass playing, infectious rhythms, melodic hooks, and atmospheric electronic textures, making his performances both musically adventurous and highly danceable. Since launching the project, he has released several recordings, including Coop a Loop: The Album! (2020) and The Sequel (2025), and performed at venues throughout the Philadelphia music scene.
