"Uninvited" Opening Scene Previs

Birthdays can be hard. Especially when you accidentally buzz someone into your apartment building who wasn't invited. Dawn lives at the Divine Lorraine and is trying her best to throw herself a birthday party. Will all her guests even make it up to her floor?

Go Birds

This originally started as an ad for La Colombe but I soon realized there are a LOT of Philly birds. The La Colombe Dove, the Wawa Goose, The Philadelphia Eagle, The Temple Owl, The St. Joe's Hawk, etc. So I am still trying to figure out what this even is. Here's a really random clip of them talking about another bird who is supposed to be legendary to birds like Norm MacDonald is to comedians. I also have a version where it's like the Godfather meeting of the five bird families at a long table. More questions than answers on this one but what's amazing is I dont even have to have it all figured out to make some shots and explore it. The puppets don't quite match the voices and I am trying to learn how to do that better. But this could be the way to do puppets from now on. I was going to pay a puppet maker to make a goose, dove, eagle etc. but it would've been so expensive.
"The Feed" - Character Idea

Music Video (for Bad Mood Club by Koser)
"The Feed" is about a social media monster who eats likes to survive. He lives off likes. He grows them, collects them, stores them in the fridge, cooks them. He's feels very unsustained, unfulfilled, lonely and depressed. He's like a hungry ghost shunned from society like Edward Scissorhands, The Hunchback, King Kong, etc. The music video would likely feature Koser singing to this monster, discovering his lair and luring him out into more social situations. Imagine him at the Union League, or on a subway, I just want a lot of shots of him in places he doesn't quite fit, trying to fit in. Scenes where everyone is looking at their phone and he's standing there like "Fuck me, right?" This doesn't have any AI shots but I would not be against making some (the ipad is a hassle to wear).

One shot I really want to do is him running on a treadmill that is a giant cellphone that is scrolling an endless social media feed. So it looks like he's running on the feed.

I continue to develop this one as a short film but it is pretty easy to put any song under it and see if someone wants to pay for it.
River of Cheese - Billy Joel (unreleased)

One of the first pizza videos where I leaned all the way into A.I.
Probably wouldn't reshoot this, it's fine even when it's not. We think the uncanny stuff kind of works for the pizza show since the whole pizzaverse is fake.
The Mall Walker - Opening Scene Previs

A glimpse into the morning routine of Sean Phillip Simon. Every day before the King of Prussia mall opens, Sean walks the same route, listens to the same playlist, and passes the same janitors, staff, robot vacuums, and early birds. Sean's routine is so set that security footage of him walking on a Monday can be superimposed with him walking on a Friday last week or a Tuesday last year. No matter the day, Sean takes the same steps, he touches the same railing a the same minute (7:49am). Sean's likes his routine but it's about to get disrupted in a very big way.
2010 A Pizza Odyssey - The Year We Went A.I.

This is the intro that we show before live pizza shows. We run on stage as this video ends and do our first song.
The Anxiety Monster - Music Video Previs

Anxiety is a monster and he lives somewhere in Koser's house. She tries to fall asleep but red yarn pulls her possessions out of her bedroom. Red yarn attaches itself to Koser and pulls her out of her bedroom and down the hall. She discovers a room where all her belongings are hanging from the ceiling in a giant network of red spiderwebs. Anxiety (the spider) is doing tests on Koser's lipstick, her keys, her childhood toys. When Anxiety starts analyzing her phone she is petrified. Cork boards and computer screens show some the confusing and paranoid project Anxiety is doing about Koser. She tries to escape but more red yarn surrounds her until she is is tied to a chair. Overwhelmed, she dives into the yarn as if it is a pool of liquid. She hides under he yarn, watching Anxiety continue to do strange tests and experiments on her belongings, on her life. In the end he gives her back her phone and she stares at it as if none of it ever happened, happy to have her pacifier back in her hands.

Originally made for another artist's song about Anxiety (song sucked and she didn't have any money). Still, liked the basic idea so I tried it over this Koser song and it's working well enough.

I've been liking this approach. Better to play matchmaker with my ideas and someone's song rather than go all in on a new idea inspired by their song for a video which might never pan out.
A.I. Gets Dreamy
I was making shots for the Billy Joel video when I started thinking about the dream from Twin Peaks and soon enough I had this weird shit.
Randy Newman - I Love Pizza (Unreleased)

This one is pretty uncanny but it only took a few hours and kids are mesmerized by it when we've done it live (and I don't think they even know the original song)
Feng Shui - The Depression Couch - Previs

This one has some continuity problems. In the beginning Keanu is played by another guy and for a few shots he's played by Andie MacDowell's daughter. You know how hard it was to get character continuity or consistency for a bit.

But the story is Keanu is depressed and won't leave the couch. Someone who loves him, Mr. Incredible, tries to get him off the couch but Keanu won't budge. So Mr. Incredible pushes the couch out of the house and the couch is able to drive, float, and fly on a whirlwind tour meant to help Keanu touch grass and hopefully shake off some of his depression. In the end it, the journey doesn't fix everything, but Keanu does smile.
Previs for an artist who claimed he had a label with a budget and that turned out not to be true so we never shot it. Noticing a pattern?
Roberta Faceplant - Big Dark Town
This song is very blatantly about heroin and I didn't want to make that video so I thought "what if instead of heroin we make something more abstract like water?" Where dealers have little bottles of water, huge jugs of water. People are collecting water from the river in buckets. Everyone is an addict who craves water but is thirsty and dehydrated, due to a drought and the fact that the queen keeps all the water for herself. Everyone collects and brings water to the queen and she just wastes it, spits it out, pours it down the drain while everyone else would do anything for a drop. She's surrounded by flowers which she waters (get it?)

We might shoot this but they don't get how big a budget it deserves to do right and I don't think I love it enough to put up my own money.
When An Album Cover Becomes A Bad Fake Movie Trailer
I agreed to this project so I could practice with AI. I took all the photographs of Eric Cooper in my studio, photoshopped the hair and clothes for each character and made the album cover. In doing so I learned a lot and just kept going. I started throwing the characters into iconic shots from the movies. I was animating these shots til I realized photo to video generation was coming online so you'll see a mix.
